Joanne Higgins

Registered Social Worker

Joanne Higgins is a Registered Social Worker who has been in the field of Addiction and Mental Health for over 10 years.  She has worked in a variety of health care settings including hospitals (in-patient, and emergency room), community outpatient programs, the inner city and various counselling clinics.

About Joanne Higgins

She is a trained EMDR therapist who draws from other therapeutic approaches including EMDR 2.0, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.  She is currently in training to become a Registered Clinical Social Worker.  

Joanne has a special interest in working with people who have been exposed to traumatic events as well as individuals with intellectual disabilities, PTSD and those who support a loved one with substance use and/or mental health concerns.
